Do you own a Route 66 GPS and want to update your speed cameras, danger zones, and other Points of Interest (POI)? You’ve come to the right place. This page offers free downloads of up-to-date files, compatible with Route 66 devices (Navigate, Chicago, and other models).

How to Download and Install Speed Cameras on Your Route 66 GPS

Installation is simple and only takes a few minutes. Here is the complete procedure:

Step 1 — Connect Your Route 66 GPS to Your Computer

Use the USB cable supplied with your device. It should appear as a removable drive in your file explorer.

Step 2 — Download the CSV Files

Download the speed camera and POI files in CSV format (and BMP for icons) below:

Step 3 — Copy the Files to the Correct Folder

Select the CSV and BMP files you need and copy them to the following directory on your GPS:

Route 66pois

This is the folder where your Route 66 device reads custom POIs, including speed cameras and danger zones.

Step 4 — Restart Your GPS

Unplug the device, restart it, and activate POI alerts if you haven’t already. Your new speed cameras are now active!

  • Danger zones (areas with a high presence of mobile speed cameras)
  • Construction zone speed cameras and average speed cameras
