IGO Speedcam File Format (speedcam.txt)

The speedcam.txt file format for IGO is structured as follows:

X,Y,TYPE,SPEED,DIRTYPE,DIRECTION

Example:

2.27553,48.88008,1,110,1,180

[Update May 2023]: There are different IGO speed camera file standards. Depending on your GPS configuration, you may need the EUR+ version or the standard IGO format.
For example, users of the old Radarlert site usually rely on the EUR+ version.

➡️ In the EUR+ format, red-light cameras are coded as 69.
➡️ In the IGO standard format, they are coded as 11.

To make things easier, we provide both formats. Select the one that matches your GPS setup to ensure complete and accurate speed camera detection.

Installation Guide

For IGO8 and IGO 2006 Plus

  1. Unzip the file and copy speedcam.txt into the folder IGO\poi\SpeedCam\ or /iGO8/content/speedcam.
  2. Delete the existing speedcam.spdb file.
  3. Restart your IGO GPS. The database will update automatically.

Tip: On restart, you should see a message indicating that the update is in progress. The speedcam.spdb file is recreated during this process. Depending on file size, conversion may take a few minutes.

For Mappy GPS (tested on Mappy Mini 330)

  1. Copy speedcam.txt into \Mappy\CONTENT\SPEEDCAM\ and rename it static_France.txt.
  2. Delete the files speedcam.spdb and SpeedcamUpdates.spud.
  3. Turn off the GPS before unplugging the USB cable.
  4. Restart your device: the files will be recreated automatically.
