Updated Radar and Speed Camera Database for Radardroid
New Radardroid Database Available:
Since Radalerte stopped updating its radar database in September 2023, many users of the Radardroid app have found themselves with an outdated or incomplete database — which significantly reduces the effectiveness of the app. Yet, Radardroid remains one of the best tools to receive speed camera alerts while keeping your main GPS app (like Waze, Here, or Google Maps) on screen.
To address this, an active community decided to create, test, and share a compatible and up-to-date database derived from Lufop / IGO / Mappy files. This database:
- is 100% functional with Radardroid (including the Pro version),
- includes fixed speed cameras, red light cameras, average speed zones, danger zones, railway crossings, and more,
- provides speed limits and directional info with readable names in the app,
- is tested monthly by members of the Lufop community,
- and is based on Lufop, the leading radar database in France, updated monthly by a passionate and active community.
Below you’ll find download links for two ready-to-use ZIP files, along with a step-by-step installation guide.

How to Install the Database in Radardroid (Step-by-Step Guide)
Automatic Installation (France, Belgium, Switzerland)
To easily install the Lufop radar database:
- Open the Radardroid app (free or Pro version).
- Go to the Settings menu > Speed Camera Databases.
- Tap the link icon at the top right (or “Add URL” depending on your version).
- Enter this address:
https://lufop.net/radardroid-lufop - The France, Belgium, and Switzerland radar database will automatically download and install!
- To avoid conflicts, delete the old database from Radalerte if it’s still active.
This method covers the main French-speaking countries. For other countries, follow the manual steps below.
Manual Installation via SD Card (for all countries)
- Download the desired ZIP file above (France+Belgium+Switzerland or full multi-country version with separate files) on your computer or directly on your Android phone.
- If downloaded on PC, transfer the ZIP file to your phone using USB, email, or a cloud drive (into a folder like Download or radars).
- Open the Radardroid app.
- Go to Settings > Speed Camera Databases > tap Import from SD card.
- Browse to the ZIP file you transferred and select it. The import will start automatically (no need to unzip!).
- Once the database is imported, disable the old Radalerte database if it’s still active, to prevent duplicates.
- Optional: Enable the option “Start when driving” (starting at 20 km/h) to save battery.
Bonus Tips & Tricks
- Radardroid runs perfectly in the background alongside another GPS app — great for keeping your eyes on the road.
- So-called “mobile radars” are often construction or autonomous units. Real mobile speed cameras are too random to be included in a reliable database.
- If you’d like to further customize the database (add names, sort by region, etc.), you can open the original CSV files in Excel or LibreOffice before converting.
- If you suspect incorrect data or want to report a removal, use the Lufop tool: Report a new SpeedCamera.
